SPORQUE

Sporque is a collaboration between Ooah and Jamie Janover / Aaron Holstein from the band ZILLA. This trio blurs the boundary between DJ/Turntable Artist and live band. Both Ooah and Aaron are synched together on 2 separate laptops, Ooah scratches, Aaron playes keyboards and Jamie plays a variety of percussion instruments including the hammered dulcimer, mini-kit and sampler in addition to sitar and electric kalimba. Together, they stretch the skin around this thing they call "live electronica", hopefully opening new synapse pathways to the rest of the musical universe....

Freq Nasty - (freqnasty.com)

For the last twelve years, Darin Mcfadyen has been tinkering with the back end of rave culture and carving radical aural geometry out of uncut bassline material and diamond-tipped breakbeats. In zones like Peckham, Brixton, and Whitechapel, where human interaction is at its most raw and hungry, FreQ Nasty has been crafting the sound of inner-city danger and excitement onto some of the toughest dancefloor music of the millennium.

In 1991 he arrived in Britain from New Zealand via Australia with a one-way ticket and burning ambition to make the music of tomorrow's world. He'd been in bands at school and a devout student of the Akia Zen since he was a teenager. Twelve years ago he stepped off the 747 as Darin Mcfadyen - a lean, mocha-skinned six-footer with dreads grown below his waist - immersed himself into the raging elementalism of the drum & bass scene, and emerged, dazed and enthused, as FreQ Nasty.

Jeno ~ Wicked, Grayhound

Born in london in the mid-sixties and citing his mum's far out record collection as a major early influence, Jenö has always had a magical relationship with music. A relationship that has been strengthened by his unconventional upbringing, his five chaotic years as a punk musician and then his head first fall into the warehouse scene of the mid-eighties. It was here that he begged and borrowed his first records and turntables, developing a passionate love for dance music that led to many memorable gigs (including his own heady "Whoosh" parties) and spontaneous adventures, often with his old mates from the now infamous "Tonka Sound System".
After heading to San Francisco in the early 90's in search of a more psychedelic groove, he and several friends began the now legendary "Full Moon" parties. The friendly vibe and hedonistic atmosphere found at these free outdoor events attracted a large and diverse crowd of people, and set the tone for the future of the electronic dance music scene in Northern California.
Inspired by the 60's drenched, jazz laden, funk driven and disco'd out sounds of San Francisco's past, Jeno along with the other "Wicked" dj's has helped define an eclectic and soulful musical style that was the original sound of San Francisco.

Random Rab ~ EL Circo

Emerging from his own distinct corner of the West Coast electronic music scene, Random Rab offers a powerful, timeless contribution to sonic exploration. Rab is a master of manipulating our temporal awareness, leading us into seemingly ancient worlds, where to our amazement, we find visible shreds of the future.

Allow his sound to catalyze your travels into haunting ecstasy, and you will not return to your same beginning. Playing only his own originally produced music live, the depth and craftsmanship of this offering is remarkable. With an array of drum machines, samplers, sequencers, and instruments, it is a clear devotion to expression and perfection. The beats are smooth, bold, and overwhelming. The original vocals, melodies and hitting bass merge seamlessly into a tapestry of unique and unexpected journeys.

Stridah- ACKlabs/Nexus/13Moontribe-Santa Cruz

Concieved, born and raised under a large mixing console in a recording studio, Stridah, whose name means drum-machine in boom-chickenese, has been listening to the emotive and sometimes emollient sounds of the human race since day 1.
In the evenings he was lulled to sleep by the buzzing sounds of ungrounded equipment and distortion of old cables, which is a tradition continued today. Today, he is a combination of the racket of the outside world of man, and the conscious thoughts of plant life and mycelial networks of the funguses, who happen to like bass. Please, come ACK with us. www.myspace.com/acklabs
